About Us
Cameo Fabricators, Inc. is a Houston-based custom fabrications manufacturer providing steel products and services internationally to a wide variety of industries. We are family-owned and operated, and we hold our work to the highest standards. We create custom pipe fittings, spools, and flanges, out of everything from stainless steel to exotic metals, in a nearly unlimited size range for petrochemical, refining, offshore, oil, water, and gas applications. We offer custom fabrication, machining, welding, quality testing, treatment, and parts that reliably exceed ASME/ASTM and our own standards of quality.
Company Timeline
- 1969: Les Coleman and family saw a need in the Houston area and founded Cameo Fabricators, Inc. as a mobile welding operation.
- 1970: Les moved the business into a 20' x 20' building with a small machine shop and welding area. They quickly developed a reputation as one of the best custom fabricators in Houston. Their main products were laterals, stub ends, and spectacle blinds.
- 1976: Cameo expands by purchasing 2.5 acres of land and building its current facility capable of handling large capacity machining and welding.
- 1980: The "Cameo Cross" was invented to efficiently create crosses by combining two tees. Creative, in-house fabrication techniques were developed to make products to fulfill customer needs.
- 1985: Cameo acts as a key advisor in the development of the ASME B16.48 specification for spectacle blinds.
- 1988: Les' son Larry becomes head of the company.
- 1994: Built a 3,000 square foot facility with an overhead crane to expand capabilities.
- 2004: Larry's son L.V. joins the company as Vice President.
- 2009: Cameo creates new initiatives toward efficiency and growth.
- 2019: The business acquires a plate rolling machine capable of rolling any grade of material up to 5/8" thick and 4' long.
- Present: Cameo continues to expand capabilities in engineered and custom fabrication products.
Our Team
Larry Coleman, President
Larry Coleman has served the petrochemical industry in Houston and all over the world through the leadership of Cameo Fabricators, Inc. for over 35 years. He has carried on the tradition of excellence in manufacturing started by Les Coleman in 1969 and developed the business through three generations. Larry grew up in Houston and also raised his family there. He is invested in seeking the best for both the local economy and for the oil and gas industry overall. He believes that developing a reputation for quality and dependability is the best way to create profitability and long-lasting relationships with customers.
LV Coleman, Vice President
LV Coleman has worked for over 20 years in industrial manufacturing for the petrochemical industry. He knows how important a solution-oriented approach is to fulfilling customer requirements, and he has invested his career in creating efficient systems and products to meet the evolving needs of these companies. He was educated at Southwest Texas State University with a bachelor's in Management Information Systems. His education and experience enable him to understand both the business and the technology sides of the oil and gas industry. LV is a Houston native and lives here with his family of four. In his free time, he enjoys following his local sports teams (Go 'Stros!) and exploring the outdoors in the Houston area.
